London | 3 days in the office

£460 per day inside IR35 | 6 month contract

We are currently recruiting for a Trade Surveillance QA Analyst to join a leading global financial institution in London, supporting a key AQ Remediation programme within its EMEA Financial Crime Compliance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3+ years' experience across Trade Surveillance, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Controls Testing or a related financial markets control function who is looking to develop their experience within a large, highly regulated banking environment.

The role will focus on the execution of Quality Assurance reviews across Trade Surveillance controls and processes, assessing whether surveillance activity is being performed effectively, consistently and in line with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute QA and control-testing reviews across Trade Surveillance activities as part of the AQ Remediation programme.
  • Review surveillance processes, controls, alerts and supporting evidence to assess quality and effectiveness.
  • Support the full QA lifecycle including planning, scoping, sampling, testing, documentation, findings and closure.
  • Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, recurring issues and opportunities for remediation.
  • Produce clear, evidence-based QA findings and maintain high-quality review workpapers.
  • Support the communication and escalation of findings to Compliance, Surveillance and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure assigned reviews are completed accurately and within agreed delivery timelines.
  • Contribute to improvements in Trade Surveillance QA processes, procedures and testing methodologies.

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years' experience within Trade Surveillance, Compliance, Financial Crime, QA, Controls Testing, Risk or Audit within financial services.
  • Good understanding of Trade Surveillance and market abuse risks.
  • Experience undertaking QA reviews, controls testing, surveillance reviews, monitoring or assurance activities.
  • Understanding of UK/EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and ideally MiFID II.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Derivatives.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify control weaknesses and document findings.
  • Good written communication and evidence/documentation skills.
  • Experience working within a bank, investment bank, asset manager or similarly regulated financial institution would be advantageous.

This role would suit a Trade Surveillance Analyst looking to move further into QA/assurance, or an existing junior QA/Controls professional who already has good exposure to Trade Surveillance and market conduct risk.
