Treatment Works Controller
Full time 37 hours per week
Salary up to £35,500 depending on experience
Location – Barsham WTW (nominal base)
About The Role
Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for operating and controlling Water Treatment Assets across our Suffolk operational area, primarily our Barsham WTW site. Working across multiple sites you will conduct tasks in all conditions to ensure these assets operate correctly, undertaking fault finding investigations and repairs when issues are found.
You will carry out routine water quality analysis, adjusting treatment processes, monitoring, and controlling flow rates, undertaking plant and chemical checks, including basic maintenance, safety and validation checks on various types of equipment, capturing work done on both electronic and paper records.
Due to the nature of the work this is a physically demanding position therefore, we are looking for you to be able to successfully complete the needs of the role.
Aspects of the role include working within Confined Spaces, using Breathing Apparatus, Working at Heights, lone working and working within a 24hr shift rotation. Full training will be provided to undertake the various technical aspects of this role.
This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked.
About You
Our Treatment Works Controllers play a key role in maintaining the quantity and quality of water through our treatment sites, processes and ultimately to our customers taps. Therefore, we are looking for people who have a strong focus on quality and are comfortable with the analysis and interpretation of data. We need people who are happy to undertake a variety of tasks in all conditions and enjoy working outside, as well as inside, providing a 24/7 service to our customers - whatever the weather!
You will need to have good IT skills and be able to analyse and interpret various pieces of information to identify process issues and optimise the assets’ performance.
Due to operational requirements the successful candidate will need to live within a reasonable distance of our key location in Beccles.
If you have a full, clean driving licence, experience of working in a technical environment, and would like a role that will engage you both physically and mentally, in a great company, we want to hear from you.
