Ward Receptionist/Clerical

Work as an effective member of the team, assisting in the smooth running of the Main Theatre Admissions Unit.
The Receptionist will work in conjunction with Theatre/Recovery and Main Theatre Admission team members to provide administrative support throughout the patient’s journey within the department.
The role involves daily face to face contact with staff and Non-NHS employees
The service users come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and the Receptionist must be able to communicate effectively.
Supporting Patient Excellence
Answer telephone enquiries in an appropriate manner reporting information to appropriate staff and other members of the multi disciplinary team.
Maintain good written and verbal communication between all departments and outside agencies.
Use the computerised patient management system (Camis) to access patient details, providing information required by the Day Surgery Teams.
Use the Theatre Computer systems (Nexus) to enhance the smooth running of the department.
Be responsible for the ordering of stationary and ensure adequate levels are maintained.
Photocopy documents/notes as required & maintain a comprehensive filing system.
Locate and retrieve patients notes ensuring the (Camis) tracking system is updated
Provide the private patients department with consumable usage for individual patients.
Attend department meetings, taking minutes, typing & distributing as required.
Contribute to developing a welcoming atmosphere within the department making users of the department feel comfortable and at ease.
