Overview
We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to rebuild and manage two corporate websites. This is a retainer/freelance engagement, and may evolve to ongoing maintenance and iteration post-launch depending on the engagement experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and launch two corporate/professional websites on WordPress
- Ensure responsive, secure, and performance-optimised builds
- Manage hosting, plugins, updates, and backups post-launch for a short transition period, with possibility of a maintenance retainer contract
- Implement SEO best practices and analytics integration
- Provide ongoing support, minor content updates, and troubleshooting under retainer terms
Requirements
- 3–5 years' hands-on WordPress development experience
- Demonstrable portfolio of corporate/professional websites (not personal blogs or small hobby sites)
- Strong PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript fundamentals
- Experience with page builders (Elementor/WPBakery) and custom theme/plugin development
- Familiarity with website security hardening and GDPR-compliant data handling
- UK or Europe-based, able to work in UK business hours overlap
Nice to Have
- Experience with corporate rebrands or multi-site management
- Basic UX/design sensibility
- Familiarity with gaming/entertainment industry sites (not required)
