This is an entry-level one-year placement internship aimed at those between their penultimate and final year of study, studying a degree that allows for placement years. We are looking for motivated, analytical and highly numerate individuals from all academic backgrounds to join our market-leading team based in London, from September 2027 to August 2028.

About The Role
In Economic & Financial Consulting, we provide expert advice on economics, finance, valuation and accountancy, both in complex commercial disputes and in industries undergoing regulatory change.
Our practice is structured around two key services areas:
Valuation, Disputes and Arbitration, where we provide valuation advice relating to a breadth of clients, from large public companies to small family businesses, on subject areas that range from patents to complex financial derivatives. We are the leading expert firm in advising on valuations in the context of legal disputes heard before courts and tribunals all around the world. As well as our main valuations teams, we have specialist teams, including:
Our clients include international law firms, FTSE 100 companies, multinational corporations, governments and regulators. We work on varied and challenging assignments across a wide range of industries, including financial services, energy and renewables, healthcare, and telecoms.

What You’ll Do
Our placement interns play a key role in our project teams by performing industry research and conducting detailed economic analysis and financial modelling to solve the most complex questions. They benefit significantly from working closely with managers and other team members in small teams, as well as from direct exposure to some of the top experts in the industry.
After comprehensive training, your day-to-day tasks will include:
We have a comprehensive in-house learning and development program. As part of this, you’ll be assigned a dedicated coach to mentor, guide and support you through regular coaching sessions and to serve as an advocate for your professional growth.

About The Role

- Data and Economics team, that focusses on applying economic, econometric and statistical analysis in projects with large volumes of data, or where questions of cause-and-effect are important; and
- Capital Market Services team, that provides complex financial instruments trading, valuation and risk management expertise. The team brings financial services and energy industry expertise in quantitative finance.

- Preparing and reviewing financial models, using Excel, coding software and financial databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
- Using statistical software packages to perform econometric analysis of industry and market data, or power-market modelling software to forecast future energy market outlooks.
- Researching companies, markets or geographies to understand what industry features are relevant to the project.
- Reviewing the regulatory landscape and drawing parallels with our client’s industry.
- Summarising your work in emails, memos or slide decks, clearly presenting your results and drawing relevant conclusions.
- Taking responsibility for the quality of the final product.

- Have received a 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent) from first year of university.
- Due to graduate university in 2029.
- Available to work a full-time internship from 6th September 2027 – 25th August 2028 in the UK.
- Numerate, logical and inquisitive team player, who can think independently and creatively.
- Ability to demonstrate your quantitative skills, whether academically or in other ways (finance/STEM backgrounds are not a prerequisite).
