AI Solutions Architect / Developer

London Area, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 1 hour ago

Role Summary

Akereos is a boutique energy-transition investment bank providing M&A, debt advisory, intermediate capital solutions, power markets advisory, and asset-optimisation services. We are hiring a single, senior AI Solutions Architect / Developer to design, build, and embed AI-driven automation across our office operations and transaction workflows.

This is a hybrid, hands-on role: part trusted advisor to non-technical bankers, part builder. You will interview deal teams and operations staff to understand real workflow friction, then design and ship the automation, AI agents, and integrations that solve it — end to end, initially, with no separate infrastructure or DevOps team behind you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as internal AI consultant to senior staff and deal teams: translate banking and back-office workflows (deal screening, production of deal materials, data rooms financial modelling, due diligence, reporting) into automation and AI opportunities.
  • Design and build AI-powered tools and agentic workflows using Microsoft's AI stack (Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry) integrated with the firm's M365 environment.
  • Own the underlying cloud architecture: hosting, security, identity, and data governance for all AI systems, appropriate to an FCA-regulated firm.
  • Automate document-heavy processes (data room review, review of complex financial contracts, , financial statement parsing) using document processing, OCR, and RAG over SharePoint/OneDrive content.
  • Build lighter-weight automations with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) where a full custom build isn't warranted.
  • Integrate with Outlook, SharePoint, Teams and CRM/deal-tracking tools via Microsoft Graph API.
  • Present findings, prototypes, and trade-offs to senior, non-technical stakeholders in plain business language.
  • Manage the automation roadmap end to end: discovery, build, deployment, and change management/adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Python skills for data processing, scripting, and API integration.
  • Hands-on LLM/AI application development: prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent).
  • Solid cloud architecture experience on Microsoft Azure, including security, identity (Entra ID) and data residency considerations.
  • Microsoft Graph API and Microsoft 365 integration experience (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Document processing / extraction experience (OCR, PDF parsing) at production quality.
  • SQL and general data structuring skills.
  • Strong Excel/VBA fluency.
  • Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical specs and vice versa, for a non-technical, senior audience.
  • Process mapping / change-management experience, ideally in a professional services or financial services environment.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Claude Certified Architect - Foundations (Anthropic) strongly preferred

Desirable

  • Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, or infrastructure finance workflows (deal lifecycle, financial modelling, deal materials) — domain fluency accelerates adoption significantly.
  • Experience with vector databases and embeddings for internal knowledge search across historical transactions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory/compliance considerations for AI use in an FCA-regulated environment.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

Initially, this will be a single-person hire covering the full loop from stakeholder discovery through architecture, build, and deployment with no direct reports. In time, a team may be formed.
