🚗 Area Retail Manager - Leicester (Field Based)
We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Area Retail Manager to lead the performance of 16–22 company-owned, franchise operated forecourt stations across a defined region.
This is a genuinely hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for performance, customer experience and profitability across a significant multi-site operation.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Coach and develop Contract Managers and their teams across your region
- Drive sales, profitability and operational performance across 16–22 sites
- Own key commercial measures including fuel, shop and forecourt performance
- Ensure exceptional standards across health & safety, compliance and customer service
- Conduct regular station and fuel audits, identifying opportunities and managing risks
- Drive effective promotions, pricing, merchandising and product availability
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and external partners
- Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance
- Manage customer complaints and ensure effective resolution
- Oversee training, development and compliance across the estate
- Coordinate maintenance and minimise equipment downtime
- Identify and implement initiatives that improve sales, efficiency and profitability
What you’ll bring
- Proven multi-site experience within forecourt, retail, grocery or convenience environment
- Experience of managing contractors, franchisees or independent operators is highly desirable
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Excellent coaching, communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to motivate people and drive accountability
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence working autonomously across a large geographical area
- A genuine appetite for improving performance and delivering results
This is a field-based role
- Expect significant travel across your area, with occasional overnight stays.
