Assistant Clerk of Works
We are currently working in partnership with a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy firm based in London, who are recruiting for an Assistant Clerk of Works on a permanent contract.
The position is due to start on notice. The salary is up to £45,000 dependent on experience for the opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on projects within the education sector however this is not essential.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out regular, structured site inspections across multiple live projects
- Reviewing works in progress and completed works to ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements, drawings, specifications, Building Regulations and home warranty standards
- Identifying, recording and following up on defects, observations and non-conformances
- Using the company's digital inspection and reporting software to capture progress photographs, site observations and professional inspection reports in real time
- Liaising directly with contractors, clients and the wider project team to promote quality throughout the construction process
- Maintaining accurate and auditable inspection records and quality trackers
Experience required:
- Experience as a Trainee or Assistant Clerk of Works
- Possession of a building services degree or similar
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Technical knowledge of construction methods, building regulations and residential quality standards
- Understanding Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Willingness or has already started the process to undertake ICWCI membership
