What’s the opportunity?
This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is analytical, detail-focused and interested in building expertise in property, banking and financial services.
You’ll support the Bank’s property valuation process, helping to coordinate external valuation instructions, review information for completeness, maintain accurate valuation records and identify matters that need further review.
You do not need to arrive as a valuations expert. We’re looking for someone with the capability and curiosity to learn, develop their technical knowledge and gradually build expertise in property-backed lending and collateral management.

You will:
- Support the instruction of external valuation firms from the Bank’s approved panel.
- Carry out initial checks of valuation reports, ensuring information is complete and highlighting discrepancies or areas requiring further review.
- Monitor valuation expiry dates and revaluation requirements.
- Maintain accurate valuation systems, records and management information.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers, Credit, Risk and external valuers to help keep valuation activity progressing.
- Prepare and organise valuation and collateral information to support colleagues involved in lending decisions.
- Identify and escalate potential valuation risks, exceptions or unusual information.
- Support reporting and administration relating to the Bank’s approved valuer panel.
We’re looking for potential as much as direct experience. You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- An interest in property, banking, lending or financial services.
- The ability to work through detailed information accurately and identify inconsistencies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence asking questions and escalating something when it doesn’t look right.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A willingness to learn technical concepts and develop your knowledge of valuations and property-backed lending.
