What You’ll Be Doing 



The Awaab’s Compliance and Escalation Manager will support Camden’s Awaab’s Compliance function by providing day-to-day management of escalated, complex and higher-risk cases that fall within the scope of Awaab’s Law. The role will help ensure that statutory and internal timescales are monitored, risks are identified early, and clear action is taken where cases require intervention, coordination or escalation.

The postholder will act as deputy to the Awaab’s Compliance Manager where required and will manage the Compliance Coordinators. They will work across operational delivery teams, Rapid Response, Repairs, Housing Management, TMOs, Damp and Mould, Legal Disrepair, Environmental Health, contractors and partner services to make sure barriers are addressed quickly, vulnerable residents and no-access cases are properly managed, and Camden can evidence compliance with Awaab’s Law and associated regulatory requirements.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Basic DBS.

You are an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of compliance, resident safety and the delivery of high-quality services within a social housing environment. You are confident managing complex and escalated cases, balancing resident needs, statutory requirements and operational priorities to achieve safe and effective outcomes.

You have experience working with repairs, damp and mould, resident safety, compliance or related housing services, and are comfortable working across multiple teams to coordinate action, remove barriers and ensure risks are managed appropriately. You understand the importance of accurate record keeping, evidence management and maintaining clear audit trails, and can use performance information and case data to identify trends, provide assurance and drive improvement.

As a people manager, you lead with clarity and empathy, supporting and developing others while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You are confident communicating with residents, colleagues, contractors and senior stakeholders, explaining complex issues in a way that is clear, professional and solution focused.

You are organised, resilient and able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, particularly when managing sensitive, complex or higher-risk cases. Most importantly, you share our commitment to resident safety and excellent customer service and are passionate about helping Camden deliver on the requirements of Awaab's Law and achieve the best possible outcomes for residents.
