Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Manager

You will work as part of the management team and be responsible for the operational function coordinating the diagnostic and screening pathways for patients. The programme manager will provide support in developing sufficiently effective patient centred service in conjunction with the Lead SSP.

This role will be responsible for the management of the Bowel Cancer Programme in the service delivery of the Bowel Cancer Screening for East Kent Hospitals. A key function of this role will be to provide the line management of a Supervisor who manages 5 administrators based across different sites and provide line management to the Quality Manager. A key expectation of the post-holder is the application of best practices to ensure consistency of operation across all administrative areas.

You will provide comprehensive and effective monitoring and validation of information required for the BCSP National Office and produce audits and reports as and when required. This person will manage demand and capacity for the Bowel Cancer Screening centre and resolve or escalate any other service delivery issues.

You will take a strategic lead with regard to the East Kent Screening Programme and to lead future developments. As a member of the management teams, to be involved in long term planning of future developments within the screening programme, for example, capacity planning and costing for the Screening Programme. The post holder will prepare and assist in business planning and developing business cases for the financial resources to ensure the East Kent screening centre is fit for purpose.

You will be actively involved in service improvement programmes to streamline the patient pathway and improve the quality of patient care. You will also support and coordinate on strategic plans for services.

The emphasis of this post will be on Screening and Specialist Screening out-patient bookings, following patients through the diagnostic and cancer pathways.

Ensure that all aims and expectations within the NHS Bowel Screening Programme Service Specification are met. To ensure that the activities within the NHSBSCP Schedule 6 and schedule 4 are produced.
