About This Opportunity
Cumberland Public Health and Communities works to ensure safe, healthy, and hygienic environments while protecting consumers. The Licensing service manages a range of applications, including alcohol, entertainment, gambling, taxis, and charitable collections, with a focus on promoting licensing objectives through partnership working, prevention, education, and enforcement where necessary.
About The Role
This role supports Licensing from pre application advice to assessing completed applications, variations and general enquiries for a range of licences. Licensing covers personal licences to sell alcohol, premise licences to sell alcohol and offer regulated entertainment (includes live music, recorded music, plays, films, sporting events, boxing or wrestling, dance) late night refreshment, scrap metal, gambling including betting shops, bingo family entertainment (but excludes on line gambling), small lottery and street collections and taxi drivers, vehicles and operators.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for candidates who can maintain accurate records and manage databases effectively, with strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service through regular interaction. You’ll be confident handling a busy and varied workload. While previous licensing experience is desirable, we offer full training and support to help you build your knowledge and gain relevant qualifications.
