Chief Transformation Officer
We’ve made the investment. Now it’s your opportunity to make the most of it.
We’ve introduced new systems. Changed processes. Redesigned structures. Cleaned up our data. Started to change how we work. And made some significant investments along the way. So, as a truly Yorkshire based organisation naturally, we’d quite like to squeeze every bit of value out of the investment we’re making.
Enter our new Chief Transformation Officer.
At Yorkshire Housing, we’re on a mission to become the UK’s best housing provider. Yep. Not exactly a small ambition.
And the good news is, we’ve already made significant progress. We’ve invested in stronger data foundations, Azure, Salesforce, Workday and wider transformation activity, creating a much better platform for where we want to go next.
But the transformation is far from complete. Some of our most complex, business-critical work is still ahead of us.
So, here’s the important bit. We’re not starting from scratch.
So where are we now?
We’ve built strong foundations, but there’s still substantial technical, data and transformation work ahead. The next phase is about turning that investment into real results and supporting our move towards becoming a more pre-emptive organisation.
That means
- developing Salesforce and strengthening our digital services
- making better use of data and AI to spot needs earlier and make better decisions
- building the integrated Data Lakehouse that will power our business intelligence
- moving safely away from legacy systems while improving the customer and colleague experience.
Salesforce will be a big part of that, but this is bigger than one platform. We need a joined-up architecture that connects our systems, data and services — and clear technical leadership to make it happen.
Technology. Culture. Data. Processes. People. It all needs to work together. And that’s where you come in.
So, what’s the job?
Our Chief Transformation Officer is a shiny new role we’ve added to our superstar Executive Team. You’ll bring the technology, data and digital expertise , alongside the strategic leadership, cultural change, challenge and assurance needed for the next phase of our transformation.
In Yorkshire terms?
You’ll be the glue that turns transformation into results.
So, here’s what you’ll be focussed on
- join the dots between our strategy, technology, insight, people and processes, providing executive oversight, challenge and assurance across the transformation
- design and oversee the technology, data and integration architecture for the next phase, ensuring Salesforce and our wider platforms work together seamlessly for customers and colleagues
- lead the technical delivery of assets, rents, service charges and building safety compliance, including the safe migration away from legacy systems
- lead the creation of our integrated Data Lakehouse, turning the insight it enables into better decisions, earlier action and more pre-emptive services
- shape the capability and operating model needed to support our remaining on-premise infrastructure while building strong SaaS and cloud-platform management
- embed our Target Operating Model, Culture Programme and new ways of working, making a pre-emptive mindset part of everyday delivery rather than an ambition on a page
- realise the full value of the investments we’ve already made, working collaboratively with our Board, Executive Team and brilliant subject-matter experts across Yorkshire Housing.
Here’s the thing. This is a transformation role with technology, data and culture at its core. You’ll bring the technical credibility to lead complex architecture, migration and integration decisions, challenge specialists and partners, and ensure our platforms are resilient, connected and fit for the future.
As we rely more on cloud and SaaS platforms, you’ll build the capability, operating model and support needed to run them brilliantly.
Spoiler alert — technology isn’t the answer to everything. You’ll connect it with people, culture, insight and innovation, because brilliant systems alone don’t transform an organisation. Transformation only counts if something actually transforms.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a proven technology leader who can operate at Executive and Board level and lead complex, organisation-wide transformation across technology, data, people, process and culture. You may have held a CTO, CIO or senior technology and transformation role. Whatever your title, you’ll bring substantial experience of architecture, enterprise platforms, data and digital delivery – and a track record of turning ambitious ideas into better, sustainable ways of working through changing the culture and mindset at a business wide level.
You might have worked in housing. But you absolutely don’t need to have.
And we’re far more interested in what you’ve done, than what your job title happened to be while you were doing it.
What we do need is someone who
- has led complex transformation that brings together people, processes, insight and technology
- brings expertise in enterprise technology, data, digital and solution architecture
- has led complex migrations and integrations across business-critical platforms
- gets the people and culture side of transformation and can bring colleagues with them
- a proven track record of moving an organisation from reactive services towards anticipating needs and acting earlier
- understands modern data platforms and how to turn integrated data into actionable insight
- knows that supporting on-premise infrastructure and running cloud and SaaS platforms demand very different skills, and can build the capability and operating model needed for both through the transition
- can provide informed challenge and clear choices on technical risk, resilience, security, investment and delivery
- turns complexity into practical outcomes and communicates confidently with an Executive Team and Board
- understands benefits realisation and how to turn investment into genuine value
And one more thing.
Leave the superhero cape at home. We’ve already got brilliant people who know Yorkshire Housing, our customers and their specialist areas inside out. This isn’t about sweeping in with all the answers. It’s about bringing a fresh perspective and making the most of the expertise already here.
You’ll bring confidence without the ego, curiosity in bucketloads and a real knack for turning different perspectives into shared momentum. Because the real magic won’t come from one person having every answer. It’ll come from getting the whole room moving in the same direction.
If you know how to bring people together, unlock what’s already in the room and turn shared ambition into action, you’ll fit right in.
Permanent? Fixed term? Fractional?
Potentially any of them.
We’re deliberately keeping an open mind because we’d rather find the right person than rule them out because their preferred working arrangement doesn’t fit neatly into a box.
Maybe you’re looking for your next permanent executive role.
Maybe you want to come in, deliver something significant, make your mark and then pass the baton. We’re happy to explore a range of options – the key is that we find the right person.
Why Yorkshire Housing?
Because we’re ambitious, willing to think differently and honest enough to know we haven’t got everything figured out.
Behind the systems, data and transformation programmes is something much simpler: making sure our customers have a safe place they’re proud to call home.
Our vision is to become the UK’s best housing provider — making better decisions, acting earlier and preventing avoidable problems. Better outcomes for our customers. That’s what all of this is ultimately about.
How we’ll measure success
Not by how many programmes you launch or how much new technology you buy, but by whether our investment is working together and customers can see the difference:
- our systems, data and services are connected and delivering what we need
- we use insight confidently to anticipate needs and act earlier
- our people work differently and the benefits are being realised
- Yorkshire Housing is stronger, smarter and more capable because you were here.
If you’re already mentally joining a few dots...
We should probably talk.
