With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and now looking for a Civil Site Supervisor to play a key role in our project delivery teams.

We are currently delivering upgrades to waste water treatment plants around the south Oxford area and are looking for a proven supervisor to join our team.

The Role
As the Site Supervisor you'll be responsible for the day-to-day on-site activities including supervising teams, coordinating resources, and acting as a key interface between site personnel, subcontractors, and management.

What You’ll Be Doing

1) Technical Responsibilities - Site Supervision
  • Supervise on-site teams, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Ensure staff adhere to company standards, procedures, and site rules.
  • Monitor use of materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Report shortages, delays, or equipment issues to the Foreman or Project Manager.
  • Support subcontractor coordination and verification of work completed.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of site activities in coordination with Project Managers and Foremen.
  • Monitor progress, report delays or issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to project specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards.
2)Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies on site.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work progress, inspections, and material usage.
  • Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Assist with site handovers and defect management.
3) Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the first point of contact for on-site queries from operatives and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular updates to the Site Manager.
  • Liaise with clients, inspectors, or other site visitors when required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • Valid UK CSCS card (or equivalent) for site access and verification of competence.
  • Basic Health & Safety awareness relevant to construction sites.
  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role on construction or engineering projects.
  • Hands-on experience supervising site teams, subcontractors, and operatives on larger civil engineering projects.

  • Desirable
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • First Aid at Work certification.
    • Temporary Works.
    • Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
