Chesamel | London, hybrid

About Chesamel

Chesamel is a global business transformation consultancy bringing together expertise in marketing, digital and workforce solutions. We combine human ingenuity with technology to help organisations grow, improve performance and deliver change.

We’re looking for a commercially minded client leader with strong social media programme experience. This is a senior role, operating at Account Director level, with an approximately equal split between account services and social media delivery.

The role

You will build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and lead the delivery of social media programmes. You’ll connect client ambitions with clear plans, the right specialists and measurable results.

You should be comfortable leading a senior client conversation, challenging a brief constructively and keeping multiple projects moving. We need someone who understands both the commercial relationship and what it takes to deliver effective social media work.

Your responsibilities

Account services and client growth — approximately 50%

  • Own day-to-day relationships with key clients, building confidence through proactive communication and reliable delivery.
  • Develop account plans that support retention, renewals and growth within existing clients.
  • Understand clients’ business priorities and identify opportunities for additional Chesamel services.
  • Lead briefs, proposals, scopes of work and commercial conversations.
  • Manage budgets, resource requirements and account profitability, ensuring changes in scope are agreed and costed.
  • Coordinate internal specialists and delivery partners around clear responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Lead client reviews, communicate progress and resolve issues before they affect the relationship.

Social media programme management — approximately 50%

  • Lead social media projects and programmes from initial brief through planning, delivery and evaluation.
  • Translate business objectives into clear channel priorities, campaign plans and measures of success.
  • Oversee content calendars, production schedules, approval processes and publishing workflows.
  • Coordinate creative, copy, community, paid social and analytics specialists as required.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, dependencies and delivery risks across concurrent campaigns.
  • Maintain quality, brand consistency and appropriate escalation processes for sensitive content or community issues.
  • Turn performance data into practical recommendations that improve future activity.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a senior account management, account director or client services role within an agency, consultancy or marketing environment.
  • A strong track record of delivering social media campaigns or programmes across multiple channels.
  • Evidence of growing existing accounts, retaining clients and identifying commercial opportunities.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and presenting recommendations clearly.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance competing deadlines and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • A practical understanding of organic and paid social, content production, community management and reporting.
  • Commercial confidence with budgets, proposals, scope management and profitability.
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
  • An interest in using AI and automation to improve planning, workflows and reporting, with appropriate human oversight.

What success looks like

Clients feel well supported, programmes deliver against agreed objectives and existing accounts grow. Work is delivered on time and within agreed budgets, with clear reporting, strong quality standards and healthy margins.

What we offer

  • Competitive base salary, depending on experience.
  • Commission linked to agreed commercial targets.
  • A comprehensive benefits package.
  • Hybrid working in London.
  • The opportunity to work across high-profile client programmes and contribute to Chesamel’s growth.
