Commissioning and Project Manager
At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.
We have an exciting opportunity to join B&NES Council working within our Strategic Commissioning Hub, which brings together the commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and market oversight functions of Childrens Services, Adult Services and Early Help into one integrated service. This service aims to improve efficiency, standardising commissioning processes, and enhancing service delivery for the residents of B&NES.
About the Role
This role sits within our Live Well portfolio and has a particular focus on adults of working age.
You will lead commissioning and service improvement projects, working collaboratively with people who use services, carers, providers, health partners and colleagues to develop person-centred services that achieve outcomes that matter to people. You will use data, market intelligence and evidence to understand need, identify gaps and help shape future services, while coordinating projects and bringing partners together to deliver change.
The role will also contribute to service redesign, procurement and contracting, the development of new service arrangements, and the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of commissioned services to support quality, value for money and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, motivated and committed to improving outcomes for people.
You will need experience of commissioning, project management or service development within health or social care, with the ability to plan and deliver projects, analyse and interpret information, and translate evidence into service improvement.
You will need strong communication, negotiation and partnership-working skills, with the confidence to work across organisations, engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and bring people together to deliver change.
A strong commitment to inclusion, empowerment, strengths-based practice and meaningful co-production is essential. An understanding of the needs of adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions and people with sensory impairments would be an advantage, as would knowledge or experience of mental health services and/or mental health commissioning.
