Community Learning and Skills Tutor
Community Learning and Skills Tutors – Multiple Roles Available (ESOL & Employability/Health & Care)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Barrow Library and community venues)
Contract Type: Permanent (part-time and variable hours)
Cumbria Adult Learning is recruiting for two tutor roles to support delivery across Barrow and the surrounding area. These include an ESOL Tutor (7.4 hours per week) and an Employability, Health & Care/Wellbeing Tutor (zero hours).
Both roles involve delivering engaging and inclusive learning in community settings and, where appropriate, online. You will work with adult learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, many of whom face barriers to learning, supporting them to build confidence, develop skills and progress into further learning or employment.
The ESOL role focuses on delivering accredited and non-accredited English language courses across a range of levels, including supporting learners at Entry Level. The Employability, Health & Care role involves delivering both accredited and non-accredited provision, including topics such as mental health awareness, resilience and employability, with a focus on supporting learner progression.
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated tutors with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage and inspire learners. You should be confident adapting your teaching to meet a range of needs and able to work across community venues, including some evening delivery where required.
A recognised teaching qualification is essential (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe), along with relevant subject experience. An Assessor qualification would be an advantage for the Employability role.
