L.E.K.’s Digital Data and AI team work alongside and support case teams in solving a range of digital and analytical problems, enabling L.E.K. to provide clients with the best possible advice.
The team’s collaborative approach is unique: our consulting teams leverage a high-powered self-service toolkit and domain expertise to build the analysis that underpins our commercial recommendations. As part of our team, you will be working alongside experienced project teams to develop cutting edge solutions to our clients’ toughest commercial problems.
The opportunity
As an Associate Consultant (Data Scientist) in L.E.K.’s Digital Data & AI team (DDA), you will help redefine how our case teams and clients leverage analytics and technology to solve their most complex challenges and transformations. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend L.E.K.’s hallmark analytical rigor with emerging Digital and AI capabilities to drive smarter, faster, and more scalable insights. You will start to lead analytical modules, begin to determine the approach to data science problems and turn findings into client recommendations. You will also contribute to proposals, help define good analytical practices and develop junior colleagues, with guidance from experienced project leaders.

Day-to-day Responsibilities And Required Skills Include
- Starting to lead fast-paced project modulesthat apply digital and data science techniques including planning the work, directing junior colleagues, reviewing outputs and managing delivery
- Supporting case teamsin selecting the appropriate data, digital and AI-enabled approaches, and helping them tie the insights to the commercial deliverable
- Applying knowledge of digital, data science and AI practices, and starting to help define team standards for model validation, reproducible code, documentation, code review, data governance and responsible AI use
- Supporting the DDA team, contributing to data science capability building, internal training materials, awareness initiatives
- Coaching junior data scientists, review their work, give actionable feedback and contribute to their training and development
- Starting to contribute to proposals by shaping analytical approaches, assessing feasibility, estimating the work involved and preparing proposal materials
- When not on project ideating, helping develop and deploying internal tools
- Investing in your own development, supported by strong senior sponsorship and dedicated time and resources to pursue personal growth goals

Required
- Understanding of structured problem-solving and analytical approaches
- Experience turning an ambiguous commercial question into a deliverable analytical plan
- Familiarity with data analysis and data exploration, ML techniques and statistical approaches
- Leading and coaching more junior people through analysis and reviewing their work
- Proficiency in Python, experience of SQL
- Understanding of how digital and analytical methods support consulting work
- Ability to communicate analytical results to stakeholders with varied backgrounds and connect findings to a commercial question, starting to own client relationships
- Knowledge of cloud environment like Azure, AWS
- Familiarity with Git and software development practices
- Experience with Generative AI, AI agents
- Experience with model deployment
- Management or strategy consulting experience
- Global firm spanning multiple sectors
