About Blackbullion

Blackbullion helps students make better money decisions, from preparing for university through to life after it. Our products include a financial wellbeing score, a learning platform, an open banking budgeting mobile app, a funding hub, and tools universities use to spot struggling students early and distribute hardship funding. We work with universities, colleges and other organisations, across the UK and beyond, and we're a small, remote team based across the UK where everyone has a real impact on what ships.

About the role

We're looking for a hybrid Delivery Manager / QA to own getting our roadmap delivered. You’ll take the product roadmap and make sure it ships, is well tested and reliable, working with the team and ensuring the wider business knows what’s coming. You’ll own quality assurance across our web platform and mobile app, and delivery: keeping work moving and unblocking developers.

You’ll report to Annie, our Director of Product & UX, and sit within our product team, working day-to-day with our engineers and designers. We're a small team working across five product areas, so you'll move between products rather than owning one.

This is a great role for someone who is organised, self-motivated, proactive and enjoys being at the centre of a product team making things happen.

What you’ll doDelivery management

  • Own delivery of the roadmap, tracking progress, dependencies and blockers, and raising risks early.
  • Run our sprint process, including planning, refinement and retrospectives.
  • Keep the backlog and workflow in Shortcut organised, with upcoming work ready to be picked up.
  • Own delivery of marketing website updates, from Marketing's requirements and designs through to release.
  • Make sure new features have the right tracking in place so we can measure their impact.
  • Coordinate releases and communicate product changes clearly across the business.
  • Keep internal product documentation up to date, and help us improve how we work without adding unnecessary processes.

Quality assurance & bug triage

  • Test new features and improvements across our web platform and mobile app before release.
  • Carry out functional, exploratory and regression testing, so new work doesn't break existing functionality.
  • Identify and report bugs clearly in Shortcut, with the context and reproduction steps developers need.
  • Triage bugs raised by Customer Support, reproducing and documenting them before they reach developers.
  • Work with developers and UX to resolve issues found in testing.
  • Communicate testing results and sign off work before it ships.

What we’re looking for

You might currently work in delivery, QA, product operations or project coordination. We’re less concerned about your exact job title than your ability to take ownership and get things done.

You’ll be

  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable owning a process.
  • Experienced working with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Comfortable using tools such as Shortcut, Jira, Linear or similar.
  • Experienced with hands-on testing of digital products.
  • Good at investigating problems and spotting edge cases.
  • A clear communicator who’s comfortable working with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Curious and proactive about where AI can be used to improve how we work.

Experience with mobile apps, release management or bug triage would be ideal.

What success looks like

The roadmap is delivered as planned, and the team is told early when it won't be. The sprint process runs smoothly, work moves through development predictably, blockers are surfaced early, bugs are properly triaged, releases are well tested, and the wider business knows what's changing and when.
