We are the leading specialist of abortion advice & treatment in the UK, supporting over 100,000 women a year in over 50 healthcare clinics nationwide.

We are seeking an experienced & values-driven Deputy Chief Operating Officer to join the BPAS Senior Leadership Team at a significant time for the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Deputy Chief Operating Officer will help to shape operational strategy, lead transformation providing a clear direction of travel that aligns with business and transformation plans, & ensure the highest standards of patient care across a national healthcare charity.
Working closely with Executive colleagues & senior leaders, you will help ensure BPAS has the leadership, workforce & organisational resilience needed to deliver high-quality care & support to the women we serve.
Job Details
As Deputy Chief Operating Officer, you will provide senior operational leadership across BPAS, translating organisational strategy into operational delivery and leading programmes that improve access, quality, productivity and patient outcomes. You will work collaboratively with operational, nursing, midwifery and medical leaders to drive innovation, improve performance and support the development of new models of care and service delivery across a complex national healthcare organisation.
About You
We are looking for a senior operational leader with significant leadership experience within a complex, multi-site and/or regulated environment.
You will bring:
- A proven track record of senior operational leadership.
- Experience of delivering large-scale service transformation and improvement.
- Significant experience of performance management, capacity planning, KPI delivery and service recovery.
- Experience of managing resources, large budgets and delivering cost improvement programmes.
- A strong understanding of governance, risk management and quality assurance.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries.
- The ability to lead confidently through change, balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery.
Experience within reproductive healthcare, women's health or a related specialist area would be advantageous but is not essential.
Further Information
Location: Hybrid Based in Head office and working from home with days in Head Office Leamington Spa and BPAS Units when required.

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000
Hours Per Week: 36 hours Monday to Friday
NB: Shifts that are longer than 6 hours, will include a 30 minutes unpaid break.
On call: All members of the Senior Operating Team will be required to participate in an on-call rota. The On-Call policy and procedure is being reviewed and revised, however it is envisaged that participation will involve being available to receive emergency / on-call telephone calls up to 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays and Sundays approximately 4 times per year.
Holidays: 34 days per year, including Bank Holidays. (Pro-rata for part time staff)
