North View are looking for experienced Nurses who would like progress their career and specialise within Acute inpatient services as a Deputy ward manager. Our new state-of-the-art adult mental health inpatient hospital, North View, became fully operational on Monday 18 November 2024.
The bespoke, purpose-built development replaces Park House on the (NMGH) site and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the future of inpatient mental health care for people in Manchester.
The new hospital significantly improves patient privacy and dignity, providing:
The post holder will take charge of the shifts on a rotational basis, act as a primary nurse to service users and their carers, as well as being responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective communication with all relevant personnel who contribute to the care of the service user both internal and external to the Trust.
The post holder will, in collaboration with the ward manager, ensure continuous clinical and professional development for ward staff through on the job coaching, mentoring, audit, regular supervision, and ward based training of less experienced staff.
The post holder will deputise for the ward manager as required and promote multi-disciplinary team working whilst leading predominantly on nursing issues and leadership.
The post holder will be expected to act into duty manager role occasionally in a supporting role to staff across prestwich site.

- 150 single en-suite bedrooms which are provided over nine single sex wards, including a purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), six adult acute wards for female and male adults, one female older adults ward, one male rehabilitation ward and a treatment suite that supports research and innovation studies.
- An assessment suite (specifically for people needing a place of safety and assessment under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act).
- A variety of internal activity areas and multiple outside garden spaces, specifically designed to enhance the environment and aid recovery.
