Design and Product Implementation Engineer

Licensed sponsor Warwick Full-time Posted 5 hours ago

A Snapshot of Your Day

You’ll sit at the point where engineering design becomes real manufactured hardware. Working within the European Distributed Additive Manufacturing division, you’ll help translate complex product design intent into high-quality additive manufactured components that can be produced consistently and efficiently.

Your day will involve reviewing drawings and design specifications, working with Design and Manufacturing teams to resolve manufacturability challenges, and feeding lessons from production back into the design process. You’ll also support component qualification, validation, inspection planning and problem-solving when parts or processes do not perform as expected.

This is a highly collaborative technical role, involving close work with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Production teams across European sites. Your impact will be seen in better-quality parts, more stable processes, reduced lead times and smoother implementation of additive manufactured components.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Act as the main technical interface between Design and Manufacturing, ensuring product design intent is accurately translated into viable additive manufactured parts.
  • Review engineering drawings, CAD models and design specifications, applying Design for Additive Manufacturing principles to improve manufacturability.
  • Build active feedback loops between manufacturing and design, using shop-floor learning, process constraints and production insight to reduce cost, quality issues and lead times.
  • Lead and support Product and Process Qualification activities for components, ensuring compliance with internal quality requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Define, coordinate and execute testing, inspection and validation plans for additive manufacturing processes and finished parts.
  • Investigate manufacturing non-conformances, carry out root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and maintain technical documentation, qualification reports and manufacturing guidelines.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant professional experience, typically 5+ years, in product design, manufacturing engineering or component qualification, with a strong focus on Additive Manufacturing technologies.
  • Practical understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing, mechanical design, CAD modelling and the impact of design decisions on manufacturability.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, inspection standards, quality requirements and manufacturing process optimisation.
  • Knowledge of Product and Process Qualification, root cause analysis, corrective actions and ideally Statistical Process Control.
  • Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Production. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration would be advantageous.

About The Team

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. We bring together gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and digital service solutions under one roof. Through modernization, digitalization and innovative service offerings, we support customers worldwide in improving reliability, efficiency and sustainability.

The European Distributed Additive Manufacturing division supports the translation of advanced product designs into qualified, repeatable manufactured components. The team works across design, manufacturing, quality and production disciplines to make additive manufacturing robust, scalable and effective across European operations.

In this role, you’ll help close the gap between what is designed and what can be manufactured consistently, supporting improved quality, shorter lead times and more efficient implementation of additive manufactured parts.
