Job description

• Our DNO client is seeking an experienced Design Lead to join its Electricity Distribution team.
• Location: UK (Multiple Locations Available)
• Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Principal Accountabilities

• Responsible for day to day management of Electrical and Civil Designers, ensuring designs produced comply with standards, Design Freeze is achieved through design review, CDM compliance maintained, and supporting the DNO investment delivery team
• Accountable for the preparation of resource plans to support sub-programme portfolio of the relevant workstream and accountable for the making the decision to insource or outsource the design delivery.
• Be a point of reference for senior managers and sub-programme managers on technical aspects of designs for the relevant sub-programme. Will have the relevant technical authority to make the appropriate technical decisions within the sub-programme.

Qualifications and experience

• Electrical engineering background. Knowledge of power system and protection design at 132KV, 33KV,11KV, and intermediate voltages.
• Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science
• Work towards achieving Chartership
• Knowledge of design processes and DNO, ENA and International Design Standards including relevant operational aspects to deliver designs
• Work with external engineering organisations
