Digital Project Manager (mid-weight)

City Of Bristol, England, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 4 hours ago

We’re looking for someone who can turn complexity into clarity.

At true, we help organisations solve complex problems through thoughtful, well-executed digital products.

As a mid-weight Digital Project Manager, you’ll bring structure, momentum and commercial awareness to digital product delivery: keeping clients informed, teams aligned and work moving confidently from scope through to launch and beyond.

This role is best suited to someone earlier-to-mid career who is ready to take more ownership in a digital agency environment, while still having support from senior delivery colleagues on more complex work.

Why this role exists?

We’re growing, and with that comes more ambitious, more complex client work.

We need someone who can:

  • Bring structure without slowing things down
  • Keep teams aligned and focused
  • Ensure what we deliver is not just on time — but genuinely valuable

What you’ll be doing

Delivery & ownership

  • Support digital product and platform delivery, including ecommerce builds, CMS-led websites, composable and headless solutions, PIM implementations and optimisation roadmaps.
  • Manage digital product retainers focused on product roadmaps, optimisation, maintenance and measurable improvements to platforms, customer experience and business performance.
  • Keep scope, timelines, budgets and resourcing clear enough for teams and clients to make good decisions.
  • Track budgets, scope, timelines and resourcing, raising risks early and understand how delivery decisions affect commercial outcomes.

Client partnership

  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients on in-flight digital projects, keeping progress, decisions, risks and next steps clear.
  • Turn client needs into practical plans that teams can act on.

Planning & structure

  • Create and maintain clear project plans, estimates, statements of work and delivery documentation with guidance from senior leads.
  • Break complex work into clear phases, actions and decisions.

Collaboration & execution

  • Work closely with Account Directors, Tech Leads and project teams to align client needs, technical approach, delivery planning and commercial objectives.
  • Help teams stay organised and ready for client review, with work understood, tracked and prepared before release.
  • Run the check-ins and ceremonies that keep decisions moving.

Continuous improvement

  • Contribute to more consistent, effective ways of working across projects and teams.

 What success looks like

  • Clients know where things stand and what needs to happen next
  • Projects move forward with control, quality and commercial awareness
  • Teams stay focused, organised and clear on priorities

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience supporting or managing digital projects, ideally websites, platforms or digital products, with hands-on exposure to planning, priorities, risks and client communication.
  • Experience in an agency or fast-moving delivery environment, where priorities can shift and decisions need to stay clear.

Capability

  • Able to turn moving parts into clear plans, priorities and next steps.
  • Comfortable managing budgets, timelines, scope and competing priorities, with the judgement to escalate at the right time.
  • Confident managing more than one workstream without losing sight of the detail.

Approach

  • Proactive, practical and focused on keeping momentum.
  • Calm in ambiguity, with the confidence to clarify what matters next.
  • Detail-focused, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in impact rather than activity for its own sake.

You’ll thrive here if you…

  • Enjoy bringing clarity to complex work, staying close to the detail and following things through.

What you’ll get

Growth & development

  • Real ownership from day one, with support from experienced project and delivery colleagues across planning, commercials, client communication and complex delivery.
  • A clear route to grow into more senior delivery responsibilities, with exposure to bigger programmes and more complex commercial conversations.

Flexibility & ways of working

  • Bristol based with a hybrid working model
  • Core hours with flexibility

Health & wellbeing

  • Private healthcare (including mental health support)
  • Wellbeing initiatives and Active Teams programme

Financial & security

  • Salary range of £37,000–£45,000, depending on experience
  • Pension with employer contributions
  • Life assurance cover

Culture & environment

  • Regular team socials and events
  • Monthly agency meetups
  • A supportive team that cares about doing good work
  • 25 days holiday a year
