Are you ready to grow your career and be mentored within an industry-leading team of innovative engineers? Join our growing HV Substation Design team working within the UK or Ireland and contribute to shaping the future of energy infrastructure!
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer, who is eager to develop their career. You'll get to work on groundbreaking projects, gaining exposure to a varied and exciting portfolio including (but not limited to);
- National Grid’s ‘Great Grid Upgrade’ Great Grid Partnership: Enabling the UK’s energy transition
- Working with the world’s leading Hyperscalers and Data Centre Operators on forward-thinking, revolutionary projects.
- EirGrid AECOM appointed to EirGrid engineering design, planning and project management services framework
- Assist with producing primary plant layouts for HV substations
- Support with the production of equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
- Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
- Support projects in the capacity of an Owners’ Engineer role. Working on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
- Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
- Gain mentorship from experienced engineers within a highly collaborative team.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Some experience of working on HV projects
- Some experience working a as designer or as a project engineer
- Some experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
- Fluency in English
- Some exposure to technical report writing
- Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle as site visits may be required as part of this role
- Ideally have experience of working on multi-discipline engineering projects
- Ideally hold Chartered accreditation or working toward status
- Ideally have consultancy experience
- Ideally have experience in reviewing review detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities
