Location: Hull

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent | Full-Time

Travel: Approximately 4-6 weeks per year internationally

The Opportunity

Adecco is recruiting on behalf of an established specialist manufacturing business in Hull, looking to appoint a Sales Manager to oversee its international customer accounts and export operations.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in shipping, exports or international logistics who is looking to develop their career within a commercial environment.

Previous sales management experience is not essential. The priority is finding someone with the right export knowledge, commercial awareness and willingness to learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage existing customer relationships across the UK and international markets.
• Oversee export processes, shipping documentation and international orders.
• Support and manage the Export Sales Administrator.
• Liaise with international agents, distributors and customers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements.
• Work closely with production and technical departments.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing accounts and grow sales.
• Prepare monthly sales reports and annual budgets.
• Visit overseas customers, typically involving 4-6 weeks of travel annually.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Experience in international shipping, exports or export logistics.
• Knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with customers.
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience within manufacturing or a technical environment.
• Previous sales, account management or commercial experience.
• SAP knowledge.
• French, German or Spanish language skills.

Personality is important to this business. They're looking for someone who is approachable, personable and genuinely interested in learning how the company operates.

You'll need to be comfortable working with colleagues on the production floor as well as building relationships with international customers.

The ideal candidate will bring strong export experience, show initiative and have the ambition to develop their skills within sales and commercial management.
