The Role - Facilities Manager

Mitie is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the delivery of integrated facilities management services at a key client site in Glasgow.
You will be responsible for managing a full range of hard and soft FM services, acting as the primary client contact while driving operational excellence, compliance, and service performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, customer-focused FM professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of hard FM services, including M&E, compliance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance, alongside soft FM services such as cleaning, security, waste management, and catering.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders as the primary point of contact.
- Lead and develop on-site teams and specialist subcontractors to deliver a consistently high standard of service and customer experience.
- Oversee asset management, lifecycle planning, and maintenance strategies.
- Manage budgets effectively, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and added value.
- Drive KPI and SLA performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce operational reports, support audits, and maintain effective governance processes.
- Support the delivery of small works and projects as required.
About You
- Proven experience managing both hard and soft FM services within a client-facing environment.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety, statutory compliance, and building services management.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with a proactive mindset.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and improving operational efficiency.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
