You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the financial records accurately represent the financial position and performance of the business through maintenance of accurate and up to date financial information in the General Ledger and the management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Co-ordinating finance period end procedures to ensure accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in accordance with FRS102.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance by preparation of accurate and timely tax and other returns and related payments.
- Good understanding of UK GAAP (FRS102) and IFRS covering all Ascent finances.
- Able to independently maintain accurate detailed financial records that adapt to changes in the business and responsible for control environment of the General Ledger.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of regulations covering all relevant taxes and government reporting requirements.
- Able to respond independently to external auditors’ questions in their audit of the financial statements.
- Ability to manage ad hoc finance projects to support the wider business
- Comfortable communicating complex financial information with non-finance teams
- Relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA)
