Graduate Process Technician – Flexographic Manufacturing

📍 Southampton (Full Time, On-Site)

£35,000 starting salary → £41,700 on completion of training

12-hour shifts | 4 on / 4 off

Overview

We are looking for high-potential graduates to join our manufacturing operation and develop into Process Technicians within a fast-paced, high-performance production environment.

This is not a typical graduate role.

You will be trained to take technical ownership of manufacturing processes, focusing on performance, efficiency, quality and continuous improvement across advanced production equipment.

If you are someone who wants responsibility early, enjoys problem-solving and wants to build a long-term career in industry, this is a serious opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will go through a structured training programme and develop into a key part of the operation.

Your role will include:

  • Learning how to control and optimise manufacturing processes
  • Setting and managing key process parameters (speed, tension, temperature, material behaviour)
  • Supporting machine setup and process configuration to defined technical standards
  • Monitoring production performance (output, waste, downtime, efficiency) and identifying improvements
  • Solving real operational problems using structured root cause analysis
  • Working with production, planning and quality teams to deliver output targets
  • Supporting new product trials and process validation
  • Driving continuous improvement across the operation

This is a hands-on role in a live manufacturing environment.

Training & Development

No prior experience required.

You will go through a structured training programme combining:

  • Classroom-based technical learning
  • On-the-job practical training
  • Mentoring from experienced technical and production leaders

Training is modular and you will be expected to pass each stage to progress.

On successful completion, you will move into a fully competent Process Technician role with increased responsibility and salary.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for the right mindset over specific experience.

  • Graduate (any discipline, but engineering/science preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Practical, hands-on approach
  • Good attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and take responsibility
  • Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts (4 on / 4 off)

Why Join Us

  • Clear pathway into a technical, high-value role
  • Fast progression based on performance
  • Exposure to a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Real responsibility from early on
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career within the business

Final Note

This role is not for everyone.

It is demanding, fast-paced and requires commitment.

But for the right person, it offers a genuine opportunity to build a strong, long-term career in manufacturing and technical operations.
