FOCUS OF THE JOB: To engage proactively with the requirements of the graduate training academy, focussing on the foundation principles of clinical research and acquiring knowledge and skills via the site-based clinical research experience during year 1. In year 2 to begin to develop specialist skills in a key area of clinical research.


Responsibilities:


  • To complete a 12-month period of foundation and practical training experience within a clinical research site, completing tasks assigned by the Site Director and aligning with the Clinical Trial Assistant job role.
  • To identify a specialist area of interest to progress to in year 2 (Study Management, Project Management, Contract Research Associate, Medical Writing, Data Management).
  • To actively participate in and complete all modules of the training program.
  • To engage positively with any mentoring or further learning opportunities.
  • To learn how to apply the principles, methodologies and processes of your chosen area of speciality in year 2.
  • Attend relevant meetings, including shadowing members of the wider team to gain insights into meeting etiquette and communication best practices.
  • To maintain a proactive approach to learning and skill development in both foundation and specialist training.


Requirements:


  • A life sciences degree or equivalent.
  • A strong desire to work within clinical research.
  • A positive mind set and willingness to embrace opportunities
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work successfully within a team.
