Head of Model Validation & Model Risk | Emerging AI & ML Risks (1x month in office)

Valayo are working with a leading insurer looking for someone to lead their Model Validation function and wider Model Risk Management across the Group.

The breadth of the role is one of the biggest attractions. You won’t just focus on the Internal Model, you will provide second-line oversight and challenge across a much wider range of models, including pricing, reserving, capital, investments and financial planning, as well as gaining exposure to emerging model risks such as AI, machine learning and advanced analytics.

This role offers a high level of ownership. You will have the opportunity to shape the validation framework, wider Model Risk approach and how the function continues to develop across the business.

You’ll be working closely with the CRO, Chief Actuary and Head of Capital, with strong exposure to Boards, senior stakeholders and regulators.

One of the other big attractions is the flexibility and work-life balance, with office attendance potentially as little as once a month.

They’re looking for someone from a strong GI validation, capital or wider model risk background who is comfortable operating at a senior level and challenging the business.
