Were looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Fowler Welch team in Spalding, supporting our Meat Processing and packaging operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. Youll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Shift Patterns-

  • Monday to Friday 05:00 Starts

Salary- From £14.72ph- £20.73ph depending on shift times.

  • Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
  • Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department
  • Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
  • Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
  • Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
  • Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks
  • Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
  • Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
  • Any other duties as reasonably required


Job requirements

What we're looking for:

  • You should hold a valid C+E Licence
  • Previous Class 1 Driving Experience is advantageous however we will consider New Pass Drivers
  • No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
  • Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation.
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
