As one of the largest and most diverse cardiac services in the region, we provide both a comprehensive local service for the people of Newcastle and highly specialised cardiology care for patients from across the North East and beyond. Our department has recently received a new fleet of state-of-the-art echocardiography machines, and we are upgrading our digital systems designed to improve interoperability and enhance patient care. We deliver cardiac physiology across two sites, including our modern, purpose-built facilities at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and comprehensive, well established Echo services at the Freeman hospital. We are also working closely with estates colleagues on exciting plans to further enhance our facilities at the Freeman Hospital site. You'll work alongside a dynamic, supportive team of consultant cardiologists, cardiac physiologists (Practitioners and Scientists), and multidisciplinary colleagues who are passionate about innovation, quality improvement and delivering outstanding patient care.
