Home to School Travel Co-ordinator
The SEND Transport Team enable approximately 1,300 children and young people to travel to and from school or college every day of the academic year.
We do this by: assessing the eligibility of applications, making decisions on suitable travel assistance, arranging personal travel budgets, commissioning the Passenger Transport Service, procuring and managing the contracts and arrangements for taxi providers and setting up post-16 travel arrangements.
To enable appropriate and effective travel arrangements we work collaboratively with a range of people and teams including: parents/carers, schools, Passenger Transport Service, taxi operators, Independent Travel Team, social workers, Plan Co-ordinators and taxi licensing.
