Job Purpose

To provide high-quality legal advice and representation in Immigration and Family Law matters, ensuring excellent client care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and achievement of departmental objectives. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, assist in business development, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.



Key ResponsibilitiesImmigration Law
  • Manage a varied caseload of immigration matters from instruction to completion.
  • Advise and represent clients on:
  • Personal immigration applications.
  • Family visas and settlement applications.
  • Skilled Worker and Sponsor Licence matters.
  • Indefinite Leave to Remain applications.
  • British citizenship and nationality applications.
  • Human rights and asylum matters.
  • Administrative Reviews and Appeals.
  • Judicial Review matters (where appropriate).
  • Draft legal representations, witness statements, and supporting documents.
  • Attend Home Office interviews, Tribunal hearings, and client meetings as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration legislation, case law, and Home Office guidance.
Family Law
  • Manage a caseload of private family law matters.
  • Advise clients on:
  • Divorce and separation.
  • Financial remedy matters.
  • Child arrangements and parental responsibility.
  • Domestic abuse and injunction applications.
  • Cohabitation and family disputes.
  • Draft court applications, statements, consent orders, and legal correspondence.
  • Represent clients at court hearings where appropriate.
  • Conduct negotiations and attempt resolution through alternative dispute resolution where suitable.
Client Care & Case Management
  • Deliver excellent client service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Conduct client consultations and provide clear legal advice.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records.
  • Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, Legal Aid Agency requirements (where applicable), and firm policies.
  • Meet billing, chargeable hours, and departmental performance targets.
  • Ensure files are progressed efficiently and within required timescales.
Business Development
  • Assist with networking, marketing initiatives, and business development activities.
  • Build and maintain referral relationships.
  • Participate in community outreach events and legal clinics where required.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Immigration and Family Departments.



Person SpecificationEssential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales.
  • Experience handling Immigration and/or Family Law matters.
  • Strong advocacy, drafting, and case management skills.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
