Integrated Catchment Planning Lead

£60,000++ | Permanent | Hybrid/Home Based | Eastern England

Shape the future of water management.

Water Resources East (WRE) is looking for an experienced Integrated Catchment Planning Lead to help tackle some of the UK's biggest water and environmental challenges.

Working with water companies, the Environment Agency, catchment partnerships and industry, you'll lead the development of integrated catchment plans that improve environmental resilience while ensuring sustainable water supplies across Eastern England.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, highly influential organisation where you'll have real impact, helping translate complex scientific evidence into practical, long-term solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead the development of integrated catchment plans and investment portfolios.
• Turn technical evidence into clear, practical strategies.
• Work with regulators, water companies, consultants and environmental partners.
• Play a leading role in the delivery of the Great Ouse Catchment System Plan (GO-CaSP).
• Manage consultant-led projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Help shape the future of regional water resource planning.

About you

You will have experience in one or more of the following - integrated catchment planning, water resources, hydrology, hydro-ecology, water quality, river morphology, environmental science, environmental planning or a related discipline, together with:

• Strong technical understanding of catchment and environmental systems.
• Experience managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating across organisations.

Experience working with the Environment Agency, water companies or environmental consultancies would be an advantage.
