Job summary Locum Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedics (Lower Limb) Fixed Term - 12 months 10 PAs The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department based at St Mary's Hospital is looking to recruit a Locum Consultant for a period of twelve months. We are looking for a highly motivated doctor to join our team and support with reducing our elective waiting list. You will be committed to upholding our Trust values. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work as part of the Consultants team and will be exposed to a wide range of elective and trauma surgery. The department is actively involved in audit and research and there are opportunities for the post holder to be involved in both. The post holder will be expected to participate in a non-resident 1:7 on call commitment. The Orthopaedic Department provides an integrated Orthopaedic and Trauma service and has facilities which include: elective and trauma wards for in-patient care, day-case unit, two Trauma & Orthopaedic theatres, designated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, x-ray and out-patient suite. Desirable Interest in foot and ankle surgery Interest in soft tissue knee surgery Teaching Audit and Research Essential Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff.
