Management Accountant
A fast growing brand is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of month-end processes, management reporting, and business partnering while managing and developing an Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a best-in-class finance function and driving financial insights to support senior leadership in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
Produce monthly management accounts with commentary comparing actuals vs. forecast and prior year performance.
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register to ensure accurate tracking of assets.
Support budgeting processes, rolling forecasts, and cashflow forecasting to meet supplier obligations and operational needs.
Collaborate with department heads to analyse performance metrics and provide commercial insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
Assist with quarterly VAT returns, year-end processes, and external audits.
Strengthen financial controls across the business and review weekly payment runs for accuracy and compliance.
Enhance processes within Xero and integrated tools to improve efficiency and reduce the month-end cycle time.
Qualifications:
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Familiarity with multi-currency and multi-entity accounting.
Experience reconciling supplier deposits/balances and e-commerce gateways such as Shopify, PayPal, or Clearpay.
Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
Experience using Xero or similar accounting software.
Knowledge of EU VAT regulations, overseas entities, or US Sales Tax compliance.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in the fashion industry.
Familiarity with multi-currency and multi-entity accounting.
Experience reconciling supplier deposits/balances and e-commerce gateways such as Shopify, PayPal, or Clearpay.
