Manual Tester

Role Summary

Sparta Global are hiring an experienced Manual QA Analyst to support Global Transformation and Change projects within investment management. You will plan, design and execute manual tests, with a particular focus on data testing, pre-UAT validation and supporting business teams through User Acceptance Testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements to ensure they are clear and testable.
• Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases, maintaining traceability to requirements.
• Own pre-UAT test execution and support business users during UAT, including guidance and defect triage.
• Work with technical teams during System Integration Testing to inform pre-UAT testing.
• Create and run regression test suites.
• Record test results and track defects through to resolution using Jira.
• Report on testing progress, defects and risks, escalating issues where needed.
• Provide test evidence and results to support project sign-off and audit requirements.
• Contribute to improvements in testing processes and support non-functional testing where required.

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 5–7 years of relevant testing experience within change and technology environments.
• A good understanding of investment management data and strong data testing experience.
• Understanding of asset management processes, with hands-on experience of asset management tools and reporting.
• Strong manual testing skills, including test planning, design, documentation and execution.
• Experience supporting UAT and testing end-to-end business processes.
• Strong SQL querying skills, proficiency in Excel formulas and data warehouse experience.
• Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Quality Centre or Azure DevOps, including Jira administration and reporting.
• Understanding of the software development and testing lifecycles.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Additional experience beneficial

• Data acquisition, transformation, quality checks and visualisation using Tableau or other BI tools.
• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Databricks or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Aladdin or Aladdin Data Cloud.
• Test automation experience, including setup and execution.
