Licensed sponsor United Kingdom Full-time Posted 6 days ago

Mitie Power & Grid brings together three ICP business units—G2 Energy, ESM Power, and Rock Power Connections—alongside Custom Solar, the UK's leading behind-the-meter solar PV installer. With over 400 specialist professionals across our ICP and solar teams—and access to thousands more engineering experts within Mitie—we are one of the UK's largest and most experienced providers of grid connection and renewable energy services. We offer a comprehensive suite of specialist services across grid application, design, equipment procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing operations and maintenance. Our focus is on supporting decarbonisation through projects including utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage (BESS), and EV infrastructure.

We are looking for two Solar PV Maintenance Electricians to join our Custom Solar and Energy Networks team.

As a Solar PV Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair, and upgrade of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Your primary objective will be to maximise system availability, optimise energy generation, and ensure all assets remain safe, compliant, and operational.

The role involves working on a variety of solar PV installations, including rooftop, ground-mounted, carport, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), undertaking both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.

You will diagnose faults across AC and DC systems, including PV modules, string circuits, combiner boxes, isolators, cabling, monitoring platforms, distribution equipment, and inverter stations. You will be expected to identify system defects, recommend corrective actions, and complete repairs in line with industry standards and company procedures.

As a key representative of the business, you will maintain effective communication with clients and site representatives, providing technical updates, reporting findings, and ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and professionally.

Accurate completion of inspection reports, test records, maintenance documentation, and asset condition assessments is an essential requirement of the role.
