The firm is seeking a Patent Paralegal to join its Bristol office. This role would suit someone with at least 6 months' relevant experience in a patent, IP, or legal support environment who is looking to build a long-term career within intellectual property. Full training and development will be provided, with a clear pathway for growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing patent portfolios and diarised deadlines using in-house case management systems
  • Preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications with the UK IPO, EPO, and other international patent offices
  • Liaising with patent attorneys, clients, and overseas associates regarding formalities and procedural requirements
  • Drafting official correspondence and monitoring official communications from patent offices
  • Handling renewals, entry into national/regional phases, and other formality-driven processes
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines
  • Providing general administrative and secretarial support to fee earners as required


Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a patent paralegal, IP support, or similar legal administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
  • CIPA qualification (or working towards it) is highly desirable but not essential - the firm is happy to support the right candidate towards this qualification
