Do you want to work at the heart of Innovation and Delivery (I&D) in the Environment & Business directorate (E&B) helping us to create better places for people, wildlife and the environment?

This role sits at the centre of the E&B Portfolio Management Office (PfMO), that drives change, transformation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work across E&B, with other portfolios ensuring E&B supporting effective oversight and reporting across portfolio data.

This is a great development opportunity and we are looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and willing to learn. The role is varied and will play a key role in ensuring high data quality while supporting the wider PfMO including the secretariat function for key directorate-wide governance.

You will support the day‑to‑day coordination of portfolio information, including maintaining core tracking tools, updating financial performance data, and supporting monthly and quarterly reporting cycles.

The role will focus on:

  • Maintaining and preparing reporting tools

  • Portfolio analyst activities such as ensuring high data quality standards are adhered to

  • Project, programme and portfolio delivery tool support

The team

Experience/skills Required

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn. Ideally, you will understand finance or data management and will be comfortable working both in the wider team and alone on individual tasks. We work as part of a dispersed team, you will show you can use your initiative to work independently and manage your time effectively.

Essential skills:

  • Microsoft Office package specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of financial and or data management
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisation and coordination
  • Communication and engagement

Desirable skills: Experience working in a project, programme or portfolio delivery environment

We are a Category-1 responder, and all staff are required to take on an incident role. You will be given appropriate training and support to find a role that suits your role and situation.

You’ll have an EA Office base location, as a national role the working location is flexible/hybrid, however some travel and overnights may be required.
