The Principal Product Manager for Global Local Payment Methods is a senior strategic product role responsible for shaping Paysafe’s global approach to locally relevant payment methods across consumer and merchant environments.
The role focuses on expanding Local Payment Method coverage across existing and new geographies, improving payment choice and merchant acceptance, and ensuring Paysafe delivers scalable, commercially viable capabilities in priority markets.
Working closely with Engineering, Architecture, Platform, Delivery, Commercial, Partnerships, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Finance and Legal, the role defines product strategy, prioritises market opportunities, and supports third-party provider optimisation alongside the Partnerships team.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership
- Define the global product strategy and roadmap for Local Payment Methods.
- Prioritise new payment methods, geographic expansion and platform capability enhancements.
- Identify consumer payment trends, merchant needs, regulatory considerations and market opportunities.
- Build business cases demonstrating commercial value, customer impact and strategic fit.
- Ensure Local Payment Methods support conversion, market reach, customer experience and commercial performance.
- Assess new geography opportunities based on consumer behaviour, merchant demand, regulation, provider availability and commercial potential.
- Define product requirements to support market entry and regional expansion.
- Work with regional, commercial, platform, delivery and operational teams to ensure launches are scalable and supportable.
- Establish repeatable frameworks for evaluating and prioritising payment method expansion globally.
- Deep understanding of consumer and merchant needs across the full payment journey.
- Champion local payment choice, convenience, trust and checkout relevance.
- Translate merchant needs into requirements for integration, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, reporting, disputes and support.
- Use data, customer insight and merchant feedback to improve conversion, payment success, cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Work with the Partnerships team to assess and optimise Local Payment Method provider relationships.
- Provide product, market and performance insight to support provider selection, negotiations and ongoing management.
- Evaluate provider capabilities across coverage, reliability, cost, settlement, reporting, compliance, technical quality and merchant relevance.
- Identify opportunities to improve provider performance, economics and operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Platform, Delivery, Commercial, Partnerships, Sales, Account Management, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Finance and Legal.
- Align stakeholders around product priorities, roadmap decisions, platform dependencies and delivery plans.
- Partner with Platform and Delivery teams to translate strategy into executable initiatives, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Guide Product Managers, Product Owners and delivery teams on epics, features, dependencies and success measures.
- Anticipate technical, operational, regulatory, platform and commercial risks, and shape mitigation plans.
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Platform and Delivery teams to define scalable capabilities for Local Payment Method integration and expansion.
- Ensure requirements support consistent APIs, reporting, reconciliation, settlement, refunds, exception handling and operational visibility.
- Promote reusable, resilient and compliant platform capabilities that reduce time to market for new payment methods and geographies.
- Ensure initiatives are planned, sequenced and governed effectively across teams, systems and stakeholders.
- Challenge technical, platform and delivery assumptions to support long-term scalability, reliability and commercial sustainability.
- Act as a senior subject matter expert for Local Payment Methods across Paysafe.
- Mentor Product Managers and Product Owners across payment method, gateway, acquiring, wallet and market expansion initiatives.
- Raise product management standards through structured prioritisation, clear business cases and measurable outcomes.
- Represent Paysafe with clients, partners and industry stakeholders where required.
- Bachelor's or educational degree in Computer Science, Business or a related discipline, or experience in lieu of education.
- 10+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, digital wallets, banking or B2B/B2B2C platforms.
- Strong experience with Local Payment Methods, alternative payment methods, consumer payments, merchant payments or regional payment ecosystems.
- Proven experience supporting payment product expansion into new geographies.
- Strong understanding of consumer payment behaviour, merchant acceptance, checkout conversion, payment economics and operational requirements.
- Experience working with third-party payment providers, ideally alongside partnerships or commercial teams.
- Ability to define product strategy, build roadmaps and deliver complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen across revenue opportunity, cost models, pricing, provider economics and investment return.
- Good understanding of settlement, reconciliation, refunds, disputes, risk, compliance, APIs and platform architecture.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align product, technology, platform, delivery and commercial teams.
- A clear strategic vision for Global Local Payment Methods.
- Deep understanding of how consumers pay locally and how merchants use payment choice to improve conversion and reach.
- Experience expanding payment capabilities into new markets.
- Strong commercial judgement to support provider optimisation with Partnerships.
- A collaborative leadership style across Product, Platform, Delivery, Technology, Commercial and Operations.
