A Product Lead augments the capabilities of Engineering Management to ensure that complex delivery initiatives are planned, coordinated and run effectively, and that the technology products and services they produce deliver maximum value to the firm.

A Product Lead augments the capabilities of Engineering Management to ensure that complex delivery initiatives are planned, coordinated and run effectively, and that the technology products and services they produce deliver maximum value to the firm.
You’ll shape the approach and facilitate the strategy for high performance project delivery.
Role Responsibilities
- Engineering collaboration: Assist the engineering managers with delivery by coordinating work across teams, providing clarity on what is being requested and its business value, and removing blockers so commitments are met.
- Delivery strategy: Provide input to delivery goals, priorities and key initiatives, based on the needs of stakeholders and in line with the firm and technology department strategy. This shapes and sequences the work of the engineering teams.
- Delivery planning: Support the Engineering teams with collating and managing features, enhancements and fixes, ensuring that these are clearly defined, estimated and sequenced into a realistic delivery plan with clear milestones and dependencies.
- Stakeholder management: Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders externally and at all levels of the firm. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure they are informed of progress, working with them to resolve impediments to delivery. Report progress, risks, issues and dependencies clearly, and build stakeholder buy-in for new features and ways of working.
- Delivery governance: Establish and run the cadence that keeps initiatives on track, including planning sessions, progress reporting, risk and issue logs, and post-delivery reviews, escalating early where scope, schedule or resourcing is at risk.
- Subject matter expertise: Develop an understanding of the business drivers and processes supported by the product and services as well as the engineering tools used to support them.
Essential
- Proven project or delivery management experience running technology initiatives end to end, ideally within a complex, multi-team environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear, prioritised delivery plans with well-defined scope, milestones and dependencies.
- Sound understanding of software engineering practices, delivery lifecycles and the tooling that supports them.
- Track record of running complex, multi-team delivery initiatives, managing scope, schedule, risks and dependencies, and balancing competing priorities to deliver measurable business value.
- Experience within financial services, asset management or another regulated industry.
- Familiarity with platform engineering concepts such as SDLC and infrastructure.
- Exposure to technology landscape assessment and maintaining a tech radar.
- Relevant qualifications in project or programme management or agile delivery (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum, SAFe).
