We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Project Manager to join our team supporting the delivery of a range of exciting rail station improvement and Access for All (AfA) schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility within a supportive and experienced delivery team.

Working on a major rail framework, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of station enhancement and accessibility projects from early design through to commissioning and handover. Reporting to a Senior Project Manager/Framework Lead, you will collaborate with an established team of project management, engineering, design, planning, and commercial professionals to deliver projects that improve accessibility, passenger experience, and station infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a long-standing client relationship and a newly awarded framework, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects while gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle within a dynamic rail environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of rail station improvement and Access for All schemes from concept and design development through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Support the successful delivery of either a large-scale project or multiple smaller projects within the framework portfolio.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, planning, and commercial functions, to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, programme, cost, quality, and risk, ensuring delivery aligns with client and business expectations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and delivery partners.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, rail regulations, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Support project reporting, governance activities, and project reviews.
  • Manage project change, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within the wider framework team to achieve successful project outcomes.

Essential

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in an engineering, construction, project management, or related discipline.
  • Experience delivering rail station improvement projects and/or Access for All schemes.
  • Understanding of project delivery within a rail environment, from design through to construction and handover.
  • Experience working with ASPRO and associated rail project delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of rail station infrastructure and rail engineering terminology.
  • Experience working for Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, or similar rail industry organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project controls, risk management, and programme management.

Desirable

  • Professional membership of a relevant engineering or project management institution, such as ICE.
  • Experience working within framework environments and long-term client relationships.
  • Familiarity with accessibility-focused rail projects and passenger improvement schemes.
  • Working towards or holding a recognised project management qualification.
