🚀 The Role
We’re looking for a Prototype Assembly Technician to support a short-term build programme (4–8 weeks) at our Harwell site.
This is a hands-on role building small volumes of late-stage R&D hardware—turning designs into high-quality instruments ready for deployment in the field.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
Build prototype instruments from electrical and mechanical drawings
Assemble components using hand tools (drilling, fastening, etc.)
Route and secure cabling to a high standard
Test systems as you go
Maintain clear build records (labels, photos, digital records)
Ensure high-quality, reliable builds for harsh environments
🧠 What We’re Looking For
Experience assembling instruments or complex hardware
Strong ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings (essential)
Hands-on, practical approach
High attention to detail
Able to work independently
