(Re)insurance Senior Pricing Analyst | £50,000-£75,000 (DoE/Exams) + High Bonus

If you're a part-qualified actuary (2-3 years) with pricing experience and enjoy combining technical modelling with commercial decision-making, this is an opportunity to work across both insurance and reinsurance pricing within the Lloyd's market.

Valayo are working with a global specialty (re)insurer looking to hire a Senior Pricing Analyst into their London team.

This role offers exposure to both direct insurance and reinsurance pricing, with work split broadly 50/50 between the two. You will be working across all classes they write, but on the RI side, the portfolio includes Credit & Political Risk, Property CAT, providing a broad range of work throughout the year and exposure to different underwriting challenges.

The role sits in a highly technical actuarial team that works closely with underwriters. Alongside day-to-day pricing work, you'll be involved in analytical projects, model development and wider initiatives focused on improving how pricing is delivered across the business.

One of the team's major projects is the development of a new in-house Python based pricing platform. As a result, the role offers significant exposure to Python, R, R Shiny and pricing model development, making it particularly well suited to someone who enjoys coding and analytical problem solving.

The role offers exposure to:

  • Insurance and reinsurance pricing (approximately 50/50)
  • Pricing model development and enhancement
  • Direct interaction with underwriters and senior stakeholders
  • Portfolio reviews, inflation analysis and business performance deep-dives
  • Development of a new global pricing platform
  • Collaboration with actuarial teams across multiple international offices

The actuarial team has built a strong reputation within the business and works closely with underwriting, finance and claims teams. The environment is collaborative, technically strong and highly commercial, with actuaries playing an active role in decision-making across the business.

They're particularly interested in candidates who can combine technical pricing experience with strong communication skills and who are comfortable explaining analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Previous London Market/Commercial Lines pricing experience is preferred, but the team is more focused on finding someone with strong analytical ability, programming skills and a real interest in learning.
