About the School
Our client is a leading international school offering a premium British-style education for students. The school combines rigorous academic programmes with holistic development, including a full boarding programme. They deliver a blended curriculum of IGCSE and IB, with a strong emphasis on pastoral care, character education, and preparing students for entry into top universities worldwide.
They are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal to lead the school to the next level of academic excellence and operational excellence. The Principal will be responsible for driving outstanding educational outcomes, particularly in strengthening our IB programme, while fostering a nurturing and ambitious school culture. This is a key leadership role that reports directly to the Asia CEO.
- Provide strategic leadership and set a clear vision for academic excellence, student wellbeing, and whole-school development.
- Lead and elevate the IB programme, with a focus on significantly improving academic results and university placement outcomes.
- Oversee the effective management of both the day school and boarding house, ensuring high standards in teaching & learning, pastoral care, and co-curricular activities.
- Build, develop, and inspire a strong team of international and local educators.
- Strengthen partnerships with parents, the local community, and the wider international school network.
- Ensure full compliance with local education regulations while maintaining alignment with international (especially UK) best practices.
- Drive continuous school improvement and innovation in curriculum delivery.
- Experience: 15-20 years of progressive experience in international education, with a minimum of 5+ years in senior leadership roles (Principal, Head of School, or Deputy Head with substantial leadership scope).
- Background: Strong preference for candidates with a UK educational background and proven experience leading top-tier international schools. Previous work experience in APAC / Mainland China / Asia is highly preferred.
- Academic Expertise: Demonstrated success in delivering strong IB (and IGCSE/GCSE) results. Experience in turning around or significantly improving academic performance is a distinct advantage.
- Leadership Style: A confident, inspiring, and values-driven leader with a "UK blue blood" traditional British boarding school leadership presence - polished, professional, and culturally astute.
- Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural adaptability, resilience, and a collaborative yet decisive leadership approach. Gender preference is male.
- Qualifications: Relevant teaching qualification and leadership certification (e.g., NPQH or equivalent) is desirable.
- Language: Fluency in English is essential. Mandarin proficiency would be a strong advantage but not mandatory.
