Senior GCP Data Engineer

Licensed sponsor Manchester Contract Posted 2 weeks ago

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Senior Data Engineers to join feature teams building and productionising cloud-based data products, including work on Master Data Management (MDM) integration and real-time data patterns. This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role for engineers who are comfortable owning a data product end-to-end rather than working on isolated tickets.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build and deploy data products on a cloud-based platform using modern ELT/ETL patterns.

Write and maintain dbt models, Python pipelines and SQL transformations to a production standard.

Contribute to MDM integration and implementation activities, including bespoke and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) MDM solutions.

Design and implement real-time data product patterns where required.

Build and maintain automated testing, data validation and quality checks.

Apply AI-enabled tooling and approaches to speed up development and testing.

Work within existing delivery, architecture, security and governance standards.

Support deployment, go-live and post-go-live stabilisation activities (DevOps practices).

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with GCP or a comparable cloud data engineering platform.

Advanced practical experience with dbt, Python and SQL.

Solid data modelling and ETL/ELT design skills.

Experience delivering data products end-to-end, not just individual pipeline components.

Exposure to MDM concepts and/or integration work is a strong plus.

Experience with testing frameworks and data quality/validation practices.

Comfortable working within DevOps/CI-CD delivery models.

Ready to mobilise quickly; academic-only or purely theoretical profiles will not be considered.
