We're looking for an ambitious Senior Growth Engineer to take on an exciting new role at Phlo, helping shape the next stage of our journey as one of the UK's fastest-growing digital pharmacy businesses.

As our first Growth Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to define how growth engineering works at Phlo, delivering solutions at pace that directly impact conversion, retention and revenue, while helping more patients access the care they need.

This is an AI-native role from day one, with tools like Claude Code at the heart of how you build, test and analyse. You'll have the freedom to explore new approaches and push the boundaries of what's possible. Working closely with engineering, marketing and commercial teams, you'll turn ideas into action, deliver measurable results and help shape the future of our digital products.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

• Shaping how growth engineering works at Phlo as the first person in the role, from the practices and tooling to the playbooks we’ll rely on as we scale
• Spotting and shipping quick wins in days and getting new product lines and offers live quickly across our brands and partner sites
• Improving acquisition and retention across the full patient journey, from first visit to repeat order, measured by approved, returning patients rather than clicks
• Using AI agents to build test variants, roll changes out across sites and dig into results and building AI-powered tools that help marketing and commercial move faster
• Partnering with our CRO lead to build and ship tests every week and owning the experimentation setup and the quality of its data
• Building self-serve tools specific to Phlo, so marketing and commercial can act at market speed
• Building integrations between our platform and Braze, PostHog, Intercom, Kameleoon, Impact and the ad platforms, so marketing gets more from the tools they already run
• Owning tracking across the whole customer journey, from first visit to reorder, reconciled against payments and our clinical platform, so the business decides from numbers it trusts
• Keeping our sites fast, especially on mobile, set up for strong organic search and backed by real-time alerts that flag drops in conversion or payments before customers notice
• Sharing what works with our product teams and helping them build proven changes into the product for the long term
• Working across our stack: Claude Code, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node, Postgres and GCP, alongside PostHog, Braze, Kameleoon, Intercom, Impact, Stripe and the major ad platforms

The Person

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following

• Experience as a growth engineer, ideally helping scaling consumer brands grow
• An AI-native way of working, with Claude Code or similar agentic tools central to how you build today and a clear sense of where human judgement still matters
• Pace with discipline, prioritising small, meaningful improvements delivered quickly while maintaining high standards of quality and engineering excellence.
• A foot in both camps, comfortable with funnels, CRO, CRM and paid acquisition as well as code and able to talk to marketers and engineers in their own terms
• Strong full-stack web skills across front end, APIs, data and third-party integrations, with good instincts for web performance and technical SEO
• Rigour with data, sceptical of numbers until they reconcile, with a solid grasp of sample sizes, guardrail metrics and when a result is real
• Commercial focus, measuring your work by its impact on conversion, retention and lifetime value
• Good judgement on when something should stay a test, be handed over or be switched off
• Comfort working within healthcare advertising rules and data protection, treating them as a design constraint rather than a blocker
• A wish to be in our Glasgow office regularly, working side by side with marketing and engineering
